Print blocking

Surrounded by exquisite skyscrapers, I rocked a print blocking ensemble full of bright hues for the final outfit during my Canadian photo shoot with my sister. Print blocking ensembles are the perfect way to turn heads and showcase luxurious fashion statements in the midst of 90 degree weather because these vivid garments are available in many materials. Pulling pieces in ultra saturated tones to coincide with summer inspirations– made curating the latest look a blast. Having sartorial fun with clashing motifs – all in one composition is definitely the focal point of my seasonal look book — rendering a veritable eye feast.  While styling a floral multi-tier impressionistic top and photographic pumps, I divided the flower power with an abstract draped Catherine Malandrino skirt to add a twist to this kaleidoscopic runway inspired look. Stay tuned, I’m currently in the middle of an exciting DIY fashion venture for the sake of  humanity’s credits! xo!

On top of the world…

Amidst breathtaking views of Toronto, I endeavored striking graceful ‘maxi’ poses on panoramic heights. My maxi dresses are my must-have for a variety of effortlessly elegant looks from day to night. While the tiered bodice and abstract print add a contemporary touch, the elongating silk of this BCBG dress contours a sophisticated silhouette. I injected my ensemble with modern class by sporting multi-color python print wedges, a Guccissima Gucci purse and my aunt’s oversize vintage specks. Despite my ‘modern meets vintage’ mismatch sartorial curation, the maxi is the most versatile garment to rock countless assortments of jewels and accessories for any occasion. Stay tuned, I’m posting the final Canadian sartorial shoot shortly!

The urban garden…

Surrounded by exquisitely manicured scenery in downtown Toronto, my sister Michelle‘s urban garden rooftop made the perfect spot for a series of Trend Nerd photo shoots during my native land visit.

I can’t leave the house without my ‘obnoxious’ oversize shades and bright color fix like a pair of saturated bottoms. They’re my year round wardrobe staples that render any look into a sartorial masterpiece. For this outfit, I stayed casual with classic eye-catching summer inspired hues. Contrasting green jeans with a bright blue leopard print top, orange Giuseppe Zanotti crocodile stiletto’s with mirror heels and brown studded Rebecca Minkoff MAB bag- created an extra dose of powerful style. Despite the scorching 90 degree temps, I’m thankful Michelle has the skills to make me look somewhat decent or I would have been one heck of a hot mess! Stay tuned, I’ll post part II of the photoshoot in Toronto shortly!

Fairy tales and fantasies

Becoming Silhouettes, Envirosax dress by Amit Avalon

Becoming Silhouettes, The Neverland Collection by Amit Avalon

Contemporary couture line, Becoming Silhouettes is fueled with avant-garde sartorial statements. Israeli-born designer, Amit Ayalon is the precocious couturier behind these exotic creations. Ayalon’s lust for fairytales and fantasies showcase the brand’s exotic couturier flair. With intricate details and eye-catching embellishments, every garment is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece– soaring the contemporary couture lexicon to new heights. Inspired by tales like Lord of the Rings and Avatar, Becoming Silhouettes launched The Neverland Collection in 2010. Loaded with imaginative garments, The Neverland Collection exhibits powerful, feminine silhouettes. More recently, Envirosax selected Ayalon to design an ensemble with the brand’s eco-chic sacks. Cultural classics like Moulin Rouge, Sherlock Holmes and Alice in Wonderland inspire the Envirosax motif. Tailored with prints ranging from lush bohemian patterns to Japanese compositions, this ensemble includes a victorian corset, back scroll piece, bustle and skirt.
